From: Pterostilbene production by microorganisms expressing resveratrol O-methyltransferase
Expression of the SUMO-tagged Vitis vinifera resveratrol O-methyltransferase gene (VvROMT) from grape and four mutant recombinant protein derivatives in E. coli BL21 (DE3) cells. Escherichia coli harboring either empty SUMO vector, SUMO-ROMT, SUMO-ROMT-167 (F167A), SUMO-ROMT-174 (D174A), SUMO-ROMT-258 (W258A) or SUMO-261 (H261A) vector were grown in LB medium and induced by the addition of 1 mM IPTG at 30 °C for 4 h. Proteins were separated by 10 % SDS-PAGE and stained with Coomassie brilliant blue.
