A molecular phylogenetic tree of Mn-SOD generated by the neighbor-joining (NJ) method using MEGA 6.1. An unrooted phylogenetic tree was generated based on the alignment of the amino acid sequences from 17 species. One thousand bootstrap replicates were calculated, and bootstrap values are shown at each node. Nodes were collapsed to a single horizontal line whenever statistical support was less than 60 %. The scale bar indicates an evolutionary distance of amino acid substitutions per position.
