Anti-oxidant activity of carotenoid extracted from strain WMA-LM9. The IC50 (drug concentration causing 50% inhibition of the desired activity) of 2, 2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical was obtained by linear regression analysis of the dose–response curve plotting between percentage inhibition (% inhibition) or percentage activity (y-axis) and carotenoid concentration (41.6 μg/ml; x-axis). Results are expressed as the mean ± SD or standard error and are compared using the Student’s unpaired t test. Significance was set at p < 0.05
